FAQ

Don’t see the legal answer you are looking for? Check out some of the more specific questions I have been asked.

How do you give us a personal ceremony? You don’t even know us!

By the time your wedding day arrives, I will know you pretty well. We use a dynamic hands-on process and work together to create a ceremony that’s you, you, you.

For more details on How I work, read (surprise!) How I work.

How much space do you have?

2023 update:  Sorry, booked already for large weddings (over 20 people) in 2023. I m-a-y be able to squeeze in some wee weddings (up to 20) and elopements (up to 4).

The further ahead you can book, the better! Because all my ceremonies are hand-crafted, the number of ceremonies I can write/perform annually is…well…limited.

How long do your ceremonies take?

Well, a dry ceremony lasting 5 minutes can feel like forever while an engaging ceremony lasting 30+ minutes can slip by in a heartbeat (without people looking at their iPhones..:)

For most of the people who hire me, getting married is something they want to look forward to and enjoy, not something they want to race through.

Do you do ceremonies in Tofino and Ucluelet?

Sorry, not any more..:(

Do you travel elsewhere to perform ceremonies?

Yes I do! I have a valid passport and a nice set of luggage to prove it…!

Should we have a rehearsal?

Rehearsals have become assumed necessities in the bridal world. In some cases they are…in others, IMHO, you could spend your money more wisely elsewhere. Whether you actually need one or not….well, click here to read more.

How many ceremonies do you perform in a day?

If you’ve done any public speaking or acting, you’ll know that they require a lot more energy than simple reading.

For most of my ceremonies, I am also the ceremony manager. This means making sure that everything is in place and that everyone is breathing through their nasal passages. 🙂

I’d rather focus on quality than quantity. Most days I perform only one ceremony. Saturdays in the summer, I can do 2. But no more than that.
