Long ago and far away, weddings were rich and vibrant rites of passage, observed with great fanfare…the whole community participated in a variety of ways.
Meaningful rituals and vows taken in the midst of one’s tribe were the necessities for a wedding ceremony, followed, of course by feasting and revelry. Weddings were, quite simply community celebrations.
Today, the necessities for a wedding seem almost endless, and it’s easy to get swept up in the massive details and expectations that can surround your wedding day. Over the years, many marriage ceremonies have become standardized, with “one-size-fits all” scripts…sadly, both the original vibrancy and the meaning have been lost.
But if you are on this site, you may, too, believe that your ceremony is not simply a great “photo opp”…it’s the threshold where you cross from one life into another. Where you are surrounded in love (if you choose) by your own tribe. Where everyone is fully engaged. With just the right amount of awe and wonder and absolute shared joy.
These original vibrant ceremonies are what I love to co-create with my couples and share with their communities.
